Singaraja, FBS – The challenges of managing institutions are getting harder day by day. The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture’s ministerial team is getting smarter in managing the success indicators that must be achieved by each institution. To face technological advances in the 21st century, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd. held a reception and briefing event for the Virtual Lab and Digital Learning (VLDL) Assistant, on Friday (3/06/2022) in the Gayotra meeting room, FBS. This event was attended by the Head of the FBS Laboratory and his team, laboratory staff, and students who had been selected as assistants.

Head of FBS Laboratory, Undiksha, Made Hery Santosa, S.Pd, M.Pd., Ph.D. is the initiator of this program. Made Hery Santosa and the VLDL FBS team, specifically launched this platform to design, manage, and organize physical and virtual laboratories, rooms, and studios to support the implementation of Education, Research, and Community Service activities in the fields of Language and Arts.

“Institutions must be able to increase the development of innovative, creative, and online learning units and teams,” concluded I Made Sutama in his briefing. In this program mechanism, several officially registered students from FBS, Undiksha are selected as VLDL Assistants. From the selection process by the FBS laboratory team, 14 (fourteen) people were selected who will assist the team in carrying out this program. Apart from gaining new experience, these assistants or students will later be given awards in the form of certificates. By providing soft skills like this, it will help students find work in the digital era like today.

In the direction of the Head of the FBS Laboratory, the selected assistants were asked to always be enthusiastic and committed and support each other for this program, because the success or failure of this project also depends on the role of the assistant. Made Hery Santosa also explained the duties of each assistant which were specifically divided into 5 (units), namely:(1) Research Assistants, (2) Innovation Resources Assistants, (3) Educational Resources Assistants, (4) Podcast Creators, dan (5) Newsletter Creator). Each unit is expected to be able to work well and seriously, where assistants are required to be active in the Laboratory for a minimum of 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for a minimum of 3 hours a day from 09.00 – 12.00 WITA.

This program will be implemented for 3 months by adjusting the development of interests and competencies of prospective assistants who are deemed worthy of helping VLDL performance. If possible, this VLDL assistant internship will be summarized in a Good Practices book with an ISBN. Hopefully, this program can help the best institutions in the future. (FBS)
