Sharing & Caring for the Association of Foreign Language Departments at the Yasa Kerthi Orphanage

In commemoration of National Children’s Day which falls on July 23, 2022, the Foreign Language Department Student Association carried out social services at the Yasa Kerthi Orphanage. This activity is one of the work programs of field 4 of HMJBA. This activity aims to foster an attitude of helping each other and teach the importance of sharing. This sharing and caring activity began with the opening of donations which will later be given to the Yasa Kerthi Orphanage Foundation. Not only donations, the committee also carried out various interesting activities such as quizzes and games and gave several gifts to the children at the Yasa Kerthi Orphanage as a form of appreciation for their enthusiasm in celebrating National Children’s Day.

Yasa Kerthi Orphanage was established in 1988 and is now chaired by Mr. Wayan Brata and Mrs. Kadek Suastiani as caretakers at the orphanage. The Yasa Kerthi Orphanage is home to more or less 31 children from elementary to high school. Every day after school, the children at the Yasa Kerthi Orphanage will take lessons according to their respective interests to develop their talents. Yasa Kerthi Orphanage facilitates education and will find sponsors for children who have completed high school so they can continue to a higher level of education.

Ni Made Meita Pradnyadari as head of the committee for this activity gave a slogan, namely “Superheroes are just fictitious, but here you can be the real one” in which she explained that help can come from anyone and can be in any form. Meita was amazed by the initiative and high enthusiasm of these children. Meita is confident that in the future these children will be successful people who can bring glory to the nation in the future. Finally, Meita advised that in the future this program will continue to be implemented and continue to be improved to provide happiness and be able to help those who need it so that we as students have a sense of empathy for each other.
