Invited as a Practitioner Lecturer, Mother Putri Koster to Provide Poetry Material

The Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) through the Department of Indonesian and Regional Languages, Literature, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, takes practical steps in implementing learning. The learning is usually carried out by lecturers from the department or internally on campus. This department first invited a poetry expert who is also a poetry writer, Bunda Ni Putu Putri Suastini Koster to be presented as a practitioner lecturer in the Poetry course, on Saturday (24/2/2024). This is done to gain a new, more real understanding for students in understanding and practicing skills in learning itself. Student enthusiasm also increased, seeing that the practitioner lecturer was also the wife of the former Governor of Bali for the 2018 – 2023 period, I Wayan Koster.

Bunda Putri, as she is known, has many achievements has won many national poetry reading competitions, and has many works related to poetry ontology. So it is not surprising that he was invited to share his knowledge and experience. Support from Mother Putri, she also sponsored this activity by distributing books written by her. He hopes that literature can flourish again on campus by producing great young writers, especially in Bumi Panji Sakti Buleleng. This activity, which was fully initiated by the Department of Indonesian and Regional Languages, Literature, will continue by bringing in other practitioner lecturers in different subjects. This is a step and commitment from the Faculty in educating the younger generation, especially students at FBS, to receive a decent and quality education. This will also enrich students’ learning experience and provide deep insight into the world of literature. This will be one way to increase the achievement of the Faculty’s KPI in achieving clustering.

This extraordinary lecture was attended directly by the Coordinator of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program and Prof. Dr. Gde Artawan, M.Pd., who is one of the lecturers at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program who has great experience in the field of poetry and literature. A total of fifty-eight second-semester students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program also attended this lecture with great enthusiasm.

By holding this activity, it is hoped that it will not only provide an in-depth understanding of poetry techniques but also offer insight into local wisdom and cultural values ??that can enrich students’ perspectives. This step will further strengthen the vision of FBS Undiksha as an educational institution that not only meets high academic standards but also makes a significant contribution to the preservation and development of wealth in the fields of language, arts, and culture.
