The highlight of the celebration of Denpasar City’s 236th anniversary in 2024 was coupled with the presentation of awards to artists or cultural figures who have been dedicated to the advancement of arts and culture in Denpasar City. This event will take place on Monday, February 26 2024 at the Taksu Dharma Negara Alaya Lumintang Building from 09.00 WITA to 12.00 WITA. The annual award for Denpasar City artists is in the form of the Parama Budaya Award for artists or cultural figures whose work has benefited more widely in the cultural dynamics of society, such as the arrangement of traditional architecture by I Gusti Bagus Oka (Unud Architecture Lecturer and alsoremovalPuri Ageng Pemayun Kesiman) as well as the arrangement of the Tukad Bindu watershed by the Tukad Bindu Foundation. In line with that, the Cultural Kerti Award was also awarded to several artists according to the specifications of the art they were pursuing, such as in the painting artist category which was won by Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudita, M. Si. The Denpasar-born artist is a senior lecturer at the Fine Arts Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages ??and Arts (FBS), Ganesha Education University (Undiksha).

In an interview after the appreciation event and art performance, Mr. Tut Sudita, his nickname in the world of artists, expressed his feelings when receiving the award which was handed over directly by the Mayor of Denpasar, who was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Denpasar City DPRD. He never imagined it because he had always focused on creating, both in his work as an artist and as an art academic at a university. Moreover, he is reluctant to publish several awards he has received, such as the award from the Rudana Museum. This is related to the idealism that one has as an artist who is always united with the aesthetics of the work produced. Nevertheless, the dashing artist and lecturer with his trademark bushy mustache expressed deep gratitude for the attention and appreciation from the Denpasar City Government for the role and work of artists such as at this annual event. Likewise, with the attention and appreciation from fellow artists who have proposed to make him one of the recipients of the award he is currently receiving along with several other artists in different categories. In the remaining two years of his service at the FBS Undiksha campus, this artist who is already active in the international arena hopes that lecturers will always be motivated to develop knowledge dynamically to practically raise the popularity of the institution.
