The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program Team (PPK Ormawa) of the Foreign Language Department Student Association of Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) carried out palm tree reforestation activities in Pedawa Village, on 1 October 2023. This project was attended by village officials, members of the Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group), Kayoman Group (Forest and Water Conservation Guard Group), as well as members of the Getah Uyung Group (Aren Farmers) from Pedawa Village.

The HMJ Foreign Language Team, which is one of the Ormawa teams that succeeded in obtaining PPK Ormawa 2023 funding, is carrying out this reforestation project as part of efforts to preserve the forest and the Pedawa palm sugar icon, as well as to maintain the function of the forest. This activity received a positive response from activity partners, including the Getah Uyung Group represented by Ketut Kusuma Ratjaya and Nyoman Satriawan, the Kayoman Pedawa Community represented by I Wayan Sadnyana and Putu Yuli Supriyandana, and the Belawa Community Trustee, Arya Kekan.

The village expressed its appreciation for the dedication of the students who are trying to restore the reputation of Pedawa Village, which is known as Gula Pedawa. This activity aims to guide the younger generation to get involved in planting palm trees, as well as to preserve palm trees which will provide benefits for increasing community productivity in Pedawa Village. They hope that projects like this can continue to be carried out to help reduce air pollution and maintain the sustainability of natural resources.
