FBS Undiksha Attends the 2022 Indonesian Language and Arts Faculty Forum (FFBSI) in Surabaya

The Indonesian Language and Arts Faculty Forum (FFBSI) was held again this year. This forum took the theme “Responding to the Latest Policies and Developments for Progress in the Fields of Language, Literature, Arts and Teaching”. This activity was carried out in Surabaya, precisely at the Westin Hotel and Four Point by Seraton on November 3-5 2022.

The Indonesian Language and Arts Faculty Forum is a biennial forum for all Educational Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) in Indonesia. The LPTKs in question are 12 State Universities (ex IKIP), one of which is the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). FBS State University of Surabaya (Unesa) is the host of this Forum.

This National Forum was opened by the Chancellor of Surabaya State University, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M. Kes. The Chancellor, who is often called Cak Hasan, said that in improving the quality of education, especially in the fields of Language and Arts, there needs to be innovation and creativity and of course being able to adapt to increasingly rapid technology. “I am sure that all teachers in the Language and Arts faculty have this ability,” he added.

Chairman of the FFBSI Organizing Committee, Syafiul Anam, Ph.D. said that the forum was a place to collaborate, exchange ideas, and express ideas in teaching in the fields of Language, Literature, and Arts. “It is hoped that this forum will produce recommendations and innovations as well as the best research aimed at advancing language, literature, and arts,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Chair of FFBSI, Prof. Noony Basalama, Ph.D. who also serves as Dean of the FSB at Gorontalo State University, said how this forum is a forum for accelerating and improving the quality of work of Language and Arts Faculties throughout Indonesia. Some of the things that are the subject of this discussion and forum are the implementation of the MBKM Program policy, the implementation of cooperation policies, the implementation of the Single Curriculum Policy, the implementation of National and International accreditation policies, etc.

This event invited several speakers including Dr. Lukman, S.T., as Institutional Director of DIKTI, Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd, (General Chair of the Management Board of the Independent Education Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK), Prof. Ganetri, M.PD., Ph.D. (Rector of Padang State University), Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd. (Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Unesa) and Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo S, Pd., M.Kes., AIFO (Deputy Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation at UNY).

Also present were FBS leaders and staff from 12 LPTKs, namely Medan State University, Jakarta State University, Gorontalo State University, Malang State University, Semarang State University, Padang State University, Indonesian Education University, Ganesha Education University, Manado State University, State University Makassar, Yogyakarta State University and host Surabaya State University. In total, there were around 310 participants who attended.
