March 6, 2024Singaraja, FBS – The curriculum is a set of subjects in educational institutions that functions as a medium for achieving goals as well as a guideline for implementing teaching. The curriculum is always adjusted or reviewed in connection with developing needs in society. For this reason, an FGD review of the curriculum within FBS Undiksha was carried out on Saturday (15/10/2022).
This activity aims to produce a joint agreement on each study program to serve as a basis for improving the curriculum. Dr. Drs. I Ketut Driver, M. Hum. as chairman of the committee in this activity expressed his pride and gratitude for the presence of the resource persons because they were willing to attend online and of course for providing input to all the study programs involved. Activities were carried out online by resource persons which were then continued with offline FGDs in each study program. Ketut Driver also appreciated the enthusiasm of all the leaders and lecturer representatives who were invited to support this activity, so that the activity could be carried out.
The Dean of the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, represented by Deputy Dean I FBS Undiksha, Dewa Putu Ramendra, in his speech, said that the curriculum is important as a document in the form of standard targets or achievements that must be achieved so that students can be considered to have certain qualifications, so the curriculum must receive special scrutiny. The curriculum must also pay attention to the needs and developments of the times and users. Ramendra also emphasized that the curriculum must be reviewed at least every 2 years.
The resource person for this activity, Dr. Syamsul Sodiq, M.Pd. Very happy to be invited to share experiences regarding curriculum preparation, especially the MBKM curriculum. “The concept of Merdeka Belajar Campus Merdeka is how to understand the characteristics of students,” continued the head of the Surabaya State University curriculum development center.
The targets for this activity are 4 (four) study programs in the field of language within the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, namely the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, English Language Education, Japanese Language Education, and Balinese Language Education. 23 people also attended this activity consisting of elements from the Dean, Head of Department, Coordinator of Study Programs, and representatives from each study program. It is hoped that through this activity, the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts will have a curriculum that is ready to meet the needs and targets of students. (fbs)
