Singaraja, FBS – As a competent tertiary institution, Ganesha University of Education emphasizes improving the quality of research results published both nationally and internationally. Reflecting on the results of the 2020 FBS clustering ranking, as well as the decline in the FBS clustering ranking, one of the roots of the problem that has been identified is the lack of lecturer publications in reputable national and international journals. Factors that influence this include the fact that not all lecturers are trained in writing journal manuscripts. In response to this, the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Undiksha held a manuscript clinic for writing articles in reputable national and international journals for lecturers within FBS Undiksha, Tuesday (11/10/2022).

The workshop, which was held in the FBS common room, Undiksha, invited two (2) resource persons, namely Utami Widiawati, Ph.D. from Malang State University, and Dr. Andi Anto Patek who comes from Makasar State University.

FBS Dean I Made Sutama said that as an academic person in higher education, he has more responsibility in terms of developing science, one of which is developing research. “The importance of disseminating research findings through writing journal articles,” he stressed. The aim of holding this manuscript workshop is that apart from being able to train and improve skills in writing journal articles for lecturers at the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Ganesha University of Education will also have an impact on the faculty. Faculties will get more value from clustering because they can produce scientific articles in reputable journals.

Institutionally, the number and quality of published manuscripts will influence the image, academic quality, and clustering of the institution. The higher the number of publications, the credit figures in the higher education ranking assessment indicators also increase. Personally, articles published by lecturers are points in fulfilling BKD requirements. Therefore, this spurs and triggers lecturers to publish their manuscripts in reputable national and international journals. So improving the quality of writing and publishing articles in reputable journals is the focus of activities in this workshop. (fbs)
