FBS Holds Work Meeting; Preparation of Activities and Budget for Fiscal Year 2020
March 21, 2024Prof. Dr. Sutama Serves as Dean of FBS Undiksha
March 21, 2024SNGARAJA, BALIPOST.com – Universities (PT) are encouraged to continue to maximize the application of online learning. One of the ways is to increase competitiveness amid the industrial revolution 4.0. This was conveyed by the Director of Learning at the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), Dr. Paristiyanti Nurwardani as a resource person at a seminar at the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), Thursday (8/8).
It was explained that the application of technology-based learning had been carried out in Professional Teacher Education (PPG) for several universities that have Educational Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK), including Undiksha. The output is considered satisfactory, with the graduation rate exceeding the target.
Some even have one hundred percent. From this, it is considered that this learning is worthy of being expanded, especially in this information technology-based era. “There are universities that make policies to implement this learning. Lecturers who can do their best will be given rewards. Vice versa. “This reward is important as a tool to achieve the goals whose policies have been made by the chancellor,” he said.
Undiksha, including the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, is considered not difficult to boost the implementation of this learning. Because there is already an implementation of technology-based services.
All you need to do is prepare the learning content by offering something unique. “There must be something different from the others,” he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd, after attending the seminar, said that from a network perspective, this university with eight faculties is very ready to implement online learning. Now it is running, it’s just that there is more focus on Personality Development Courses (MPK) and PPG. “The internet network is adequate. Now what we are still encouraging is the lecturers. “We will continue to carry out intensive training, create learning content, and manage it well,” he said.
This learning, continued by the former Undiksha Postgraduate Director, is relevant to apply, balancing the lifestyle of the younger generation who are very attached to the internet. “Learning must be prepared according to current conditions,” he said.
Supporting this, Undiksha has also established an Online Learning Development Center, under the control of an academic in the field of Learning Technology, Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S.Pd., S.T., M.Pd., who was also a resource person at the seminar. “By establishing this special center, we hope that online learning can be maximized,” added Suastra.
Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Prof. Dr. Putu Kerti Nitiasih, M.A., admitted that apart from human resources, learning content is also still an obstacle in implementing learning. He hopes that through this seminar, lecturers’ understanding can increase. “Anticipating the era of industrial revolution 4.0, we want to welcome the Chancellor’s policy, that 20 to 40 percent is online learning for study programs, 50 percent for MPK, and 100 percent for PPG. “After this seminar, we at the faculty will make a policy,” she explained.
