March 13, 2024Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program Holds Language and Literature Research Methodology Training
March 18, 2024For campus institutions, learning is not only done in the classroom. The social environment can also be a place that is worthy of being used as a source of gaining experience. This is important to do considering that the duties of teaching staff in higher education are implied in the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely carrying out the duties of teaching, research, and community service. Through these duties, teaching staff at universities, among other things, must improve the quality of education for students, develop knowledge, and help improve the quality of life in society. Therefore, the educational process in higher education always interacts with the environment, whether social, cultural, economic, or political. This interaction indicates that educational life at a university does not take place in a sterile and vacuum atmosphere.
Teaching staff or lecturers at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages ??and Arts, Ganesha Education University try to be fully aware of this condition. Teaching staff or lecturers in the Indonesian Language Education Study Program always try to study and understand developments in the community environment, even making it a routine agenda that is carried out every year. This is based on the idea that the social environment is always changing rapidly and these changes need to be followed. In this way, the educational dynamics that take place in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program can always be aligned with developments and societal demands.
In connection with this, to improve the performance of study programs, both lecturers, students, and other tools, such as the curriculum and its implementation, it is deemed necessary for lecturers to involve students in learning activities that do not only take place in the classroom. One effort to realize such learning is by organizing Field Study Activities (KSL). It is through these activities that lecturers and students can absorb the latest knowledge that is taking place in society, which can be obtained both through formal and non-formal institutions and through individuals. In this way, education will be able to run dynamically and innovatively.
In 2020, the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program held a virtual KSL on BIPA. With these KSL activities, it is hoped that students will be able to increase their insight and experience directly in the community. The most important thing that students can get is regarding a person’s work process in the fields they are involved in intensely. The speakers presented were Alfanul Ulum Faizal Syahit, co-founder of BIPA LOKA Malang, East Java, with moderator I Dewa Gede Budi Utama, PBSI lecturer who is also a BIPA Undiksha teacher.
This activity involved 64 semester V and VII students. The event was opened directly by the Head of the Department, Dr. I Wayan Artika, S.Pd., M.Hum., aims to realize the program prepared by the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program in 2020, to study and understand the development of society to find out the changes that occur in sectors or fields relevant to the language field and Indonesian literature, increasing insight into things that occur in society and their dynamics so that they can be understood, provide descriptions and alternatives regarding opportunities and opportunities for students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program to put into practice the performance they have and obtained in college after they graduate, especially in the field of BIPA, gaining more specific insight into BIPA outside Bali. In general, KSL, which starts at 09.00 – 11.00 WITA, runs well and smoothly, and the students feel the benefits.
