The MICE Subject Class collaborated with the Foreign Language Department Student Association to initiate a National Trilingual Language, Literature, and Tourism Seminar. Seminars held onlineHybrid (offline and online) This is the first trilingual seminar held to expand the knowledge of the fields of language, literature, tourism, and language education.

The seminar, which was held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, presented four key speakers. In the first session of the seminar, the Secretary of the Undiksha Foreign Language Department, Dr. Ni Putu Era Marsakawati, S.Pd., M.Pd. brings material Implementing Text-Based Teaching to Teach Hospitality English emphasizes how practical TBLT is and its benefits for students. The importance of effective interpersonal communication skills and communicating in English for ecotourism in Bali Nusra was also conveyed by the second speaker who was present from Flores, NTT via Zoom meeting, Dr. Sebastianus Menggo in his material aboutInterpersonal Communication Skills for Fostering Ecotourism in Bali and Nusa Tenggara.

Not only talking about texts and interpersonal communication, the two heroines in the second session of this seminar discussed how to change the curriculum and follow up in their practice as teachers. This was conveyed in the material Reconstructing Language Learning in the Era of Disruption of the Independent Curriculum by the lecturer in the Department of Indonesian and Regional Language Literature, Dr. Ni Made Rai Wisudariani, S.Pd., M.Pd. However, different from the previous speakers, Dr. I Gusti Agung Sri Rwa Jayantini, S.S., M.Hum who is based at Mahasaraswati University Denpasar presented material on Translating Literary Works in the Context of Revitalizing Local Literature: Realization, and Contribution. The warm discussion with the participants referred to how the contribution of translation, introduction, and preservation of local literary works as part of enriching the number of national literary works born from local literary works.

Participants in this seminar were not only from Undiksha, this is known from the abstracts that have been recorded. A total of 98 abstracts were included in this seminar. With 10 abstracts coming from outside Undiksha. In the presentation session, a total of 74 abstracts were suitable to be presented at this national seminar.

It was further stated that this seminar was also held to strengthen the Trigatra Language Building program. “The choice of the name of the 2023 National Seminar on Trilingual Language Literature and Tourism refers to the position of the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts which oversees the Department of Indonesian and Regional Language Literature, the Department of Foreign Languages, and the Department of Art and Design which seeks to strengthen the trigger language development program,” said the chairman of the seminar organizer.

It is hoped that this seminar will provide real benefits and contributions to the preservation of language, literature, tourism, and language education, as well as a forum for disseminating developments in contemporary studies related to language, literature, tourism, and language education.
