Currently, collaboration is one of the indicators that universities must carry out. Collaboration is also an indicator of the success of a university. It can be seen from the components in one of the IKUs, namely IKU 6, which specifically mentions cooperation. Ganesha University of Education through Study Program. Japanese Language Education follows up on ongoing collaboration with IWATE University-Japan. Located in the Nitisastra Room, FBS Undiksha, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, a collaborative project was carried out between the Japanese Language Education Study Program and IWATE University.

This collaborative activity is an annual activity that has been held almost six times, which was postponed due to COVID-19 in 2019. Also present were all leaders in the Undiksha FBS environment, Japanese language education lecturers, IWATE University teaching lecturers, and several student representatives from IWATE. This activity attracted interest from students, especially Japanese Language Education students, where they could directly meet Japanese people to be able to collaborate regarding programs that would be carried out in the future. Coordinator of the Japanese Language Education Study Program, Wayan Sadyana S.S., M.Sc. explains some of the collaborations in question such as cultural collaboration or other words cross-cultural exchange and understanding (Cross Culture Understanding). Apart from that, environmental education activities were carried out in Pedawa village in collaboration with the KAYOMAN Pedawa community.

The hope is that this activity, which will last for 10 days, will continue to be able to increase and improve cooperation. Apart from that, activities like this should be able to provide mutual understanding between cultures, both Japanese culture and culture in Indonesia, especially in Bali. Apart from IWATE, Undiksha has also collaborated with other institutions such as Ohkagakuen University, hotels in Japan, and several LPKs that handle Internship Programs in Japan.
