In the framework of Balinese Language Month activities which fall every year in February, the Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) collaborates with Panji Village government officials to carry out Balinese Language Month activities in 2024. Different from the previous year, Language Month Bali, which was originally held only around campus, is now the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts through the Department of Indonesian and Regional Languages, Literature, carrying out Bali Language Month activities outside campus, precisely in the Panji Village area, Sukasada. This also becomes a new motivation to carry out community service activities and implement knowledge and culture in the wider community in a real way (05/02/24).

The activity with the theme “Karang Awak Tandurin” took place in Wantilan, Panji Singaraja Village, and attracted enthusiasm from the surrounding community. Also invited to this activity was the Head of Panji Village, traditional kelian, village kelian, Panji Village government officials, Deputy Dean for Finance and General Affairs of FBS, Head of the BSID Department (Language, Indonesian and Regional Literature), Coordinator of Balinese Language Education Study Program, Coordinator of Language Education Study Program and Indonesian Literature, BSID (Language, Indonesian and Regional Literature) lecturer, as well as HMJ (Department Student Association) functionary within FBS Undiksha.

In his speech, the Head of Panji Village, Jero Mangku Made Ariawan, S.ST.Par., M.B.A., said that this activity was the seriousness of the Panji Village government officials in preserving Balinese cultural heritage. He also invited the campus to work together to participate in advancing the village through academic and non-academic activities. This was also confirmed by the Dean of FBS Undiksha, represented by the Deputy Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. I Putu Mas Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Pd., in his speech said that cooperation would continue considering the potential that the village has is so large that it is very supportive of producing an extraordinary collaborative product.

This Balinese Language Month activity will last for 2 days, namely 5-6 February 2024. On the first day there will be a seminar on digitizing Balinese script and literature and on the second day there will be a cultural exhibition of works by BSID students as well as Balinese dance training for children.

The hope is that through Balinese Language Month activities, awareness will grow of the importance of Balinese language and culture in the current modern era so that people will be more alert and willing to participate in continuing to maintain Balinese cultural heritage in the future. In this way, the Balinese language will remain stable and the role of the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts as a center for language, arts, and culture studies can be carried out well.
