The Faculty Language and Arts (FBS) at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) successfully held the Student Creativity Program (PKM) FBS CUP 2024 events on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The event took place in the Jayaprana room, FBS Undiksha, with participation of 36 students grouped into 8 teams. The participants came not only from FBS study programs but also from the other study programs across Undiksha, showcasing a spirit of interdepartmental collaboration.
This activity aimed to enhance students’ skills in scientific writing, develop their academic writing competence, and foster collaborative relationships between lecturers and students in producing high-quality academic work. Through this event, FBS Undiksha seeks to encourage students to become more innovative, while also sharpening their critical thinking and creative abilities.
In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FBS Undiksha, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., highlighted the importance of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) as one of the strategic initiatives launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to improve the quality of students across Indonesia.
“PKM is not just a program within FBS or Undiksha, it represents a great aspiration for universities throughout Indonesia. The participants involved in this competition are outstanding future academics who have already demonstrated the courage to think critically and objectively,” stated Drs. I Gede Nurjaya.
He further emphasized two key characteristics that should be nurtured through PKM: creativity and objectivity. “Creativity means that students must be capable of generating fresh, original ideas without plagiarizing others’ work. Meanwhile, objectivity teaches students to accept feedback with an open mind and be ready to revise their work for improvement,” he explained.
Through this competition, students are expected to develop a creative and innovative mindset, as well as enhance their collaboration skills with both peers and lecturers. The PKM FBS Cup 2024 serves as an ideal platform for students to hone their potential, foster a competitive spirit, and produce scientific works that can make a positive impact not only within the university but also on a broader scale.
