FBS Undiksha Holds Online Judicial: Producing Disciplined, Committed, and Responsible Graduates
February 14, 2025Ubud, October 31, 2024 – First-semester students from the D4 English Study Program for Business and Professional Communication, Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), participated in a field study program at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa. This activity was designed as an initial step to prepare students for the workforce, particularly in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
During the program, students gained practical knowledge about service standards, work ethica, and professional communication skills relevant to the industry. They also had the opportunity to engage in hospitality service simulations, including guest reception, effective communication techniques, and explaining hotel facilities. This simulation aims to boost students’ confidence in facing real-world challenges in the hospitality industry.
The event featured Sang Putu Arsana, an Undiksha D3 English Language alumnus who currently serves as the Academy Manager at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa., as the keynote speaker. During the discussion session, Arsana shared his professional journey and provided insights into the challenges and opportunities within Bali’s globally recognized tourism industry.
“Understanding service standards, professional communication, and work ethics are the keys to success in this field,” stated Arsana.
The event received positive feedback from Maya Ubud Resort & Spa, with the management expressing appreciation for the collaboration. They hope that partnerships between educational institutions and the hospitality sector will continue to support the development of competent human resources (HR) in the tourism industry.
Through this field study, students not only honed their English communication skills but also gained a deeper understanding of the tourism industry’s work environment. It is expected that this valuable experience will serve as a strong foundation for students as they prepare to face future professional challenges in the global tourism landscape.
