March 6, 2024Singaraja, FBS – In order to improve academic quality in the Javanese Language Education Department, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, explored the Balinese Language Education Study Program, Undiksha Faculty of Language and Arts through the Field Work Lecture (KKL) program, on Tuesday (13/12/ 2022).
The activity which was carried out in the FBS Nitisastra room was welcomed with joy by the Head of the Department of Indonesian and Regional Languages, Literature, Dr. I Wayan Artika, S.Pd, M.Hum. who at that time was also accompanied by Ida Bagus Rai, S.S., M.Pd. as Study Program Coordinator, lecturers and students from the Balinese Language Education Study Program. The presence of the Javanese Language Education Department from FKIP UNS brought in 71 students from the Javanese Language Education Study Program as well as 4 accompanying lecturers, one of whom was the Head of the Javanese Language Education Study Program FKIP UNS, Dr. Djoko Sulaksono, S.Pd., M.Pd.
I Wayan Artika stated that this KKL activity is a positive activity for study programs, departments, and students because they can share experiences in the field of regional languages ??and literature because the identity, language, and script of Javanese and Balinese come from the same proto or origin. I Wayan also said that one of the cultures that can be developed is Nurat Lontar. Where this letter can be used as an innovative program in entrepreneurship.
This Field Work Lecture is carried out as a soft skills development and learning process for students in the future world of work. Djoko Sulaksono said that this KKL activity was to meet with the Balinese Language Education Study Program at FBS as well as carry out comparative studies and to find out how the learning process, implementation, and practice of students in writing lontar and speaking Balinese. The Head of the Javanese Language Study Program also hopes that with activities like this, Javanese script writing can be further developed, recognized, and loved, and that collaboration can be established between the Javanese Language Department, FKIP UNS, and the Balinese Language Education study program at FBS Undiksha. This collaboration between the Javanese Language Department, FKIP UNS, and the Balinese Language Education Study Program is also one way to strengthen the IKU (Key Performance Indicators) in tertiary institutions.
Dini Wahyu Indah Lestari, one of the Javanese Language Department students at FKIP UNS, expressed her happiness because she was impressed by the welcome and friendliness of the FBS residents. Likewise, Sita Nurasih also admitted that she was very happy to be able to learn to write lontar in Balinese script because it was fun even though it was a bit difficult.
The event closed with the handover of souvenirs from FKIP UNS to FBS Undiksha, then a special performance was presented by students from the Javanese Language Department, FKIP UNS.(fbs)
