Yogyakarta 22 s.d. January 25, 2024 – A new chapter in the student’s educational journey was marked by field study lecture activities recently carried out by the Department of Indonesian and Regional Language Literature, Undiksha which took place in Yogyakarta. On this trip, students are not only given academic insight into the creative industry of literature and book publishing, but are also involved in direct interaction and observing culture and culinary delights in every corner of the city of Yogyakarta through visits to several destinations, such as Prambanan Temple, DIY Library and Archives Service Center, Malioboro, Bakphia Jogkem, and He Ha Sky View. This activity involved approximately 135 participants consisting of 5th and 7th-semester students and accompanied by several lecturers.

This KSL core activity provides an in-depth understanding of the community creative and publishing industry which takes place at the Yogyakarta Regional Library and Archives Service, specifically at the Grhatama Pustaka Auditorium. The seminar took place on the second day, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, inviting local speakers. Topics related to school theater and creative industries were filled by Latief S. Nugraha and the topic of book publishing opportunities for prospective teachers was filled by Indrian Koto. The seminar moderated by I Made Astika, S.Pd., M.A. lasts approximately 2.5 hours. The meeting became a warm discussion space between resource persons, lecturers, and student participants. At the end of the seminar, a cooperation contract was signed between the resource persons and each Study Program Coordinator, namely the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program Coordinator, by Dr. Ni Made Rai Wisudariani, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Balinese Language Education study program coordination by Ida Bagus Rai, S.S., M.Pd.

After following the core activities at DPAD Yogyakarta, the group explored Malioboro in the afternoon. An afternoon visit to Malioboro not only provides an opportunity to shop and explore Yogyakarta’s nightlife but is also a moment of bonding between students. Relaxed discussions in angkringan and togetherness on the streets of Malioboro give a special color to the trip. That night, the students and accompanying lecturers closed their trip by staying at a hotel around Malioboro. This overnight experience was an unforgettable moment of togetherness, where discussions and reflections on all field study lecture activities took place in the rooms.

The Field Study Lecture was held over 4 days and 3 nights, in collaboration with Damar Wisata Travel which has accommodated the trip and provided a positive experience at KSL activities. Preparations for the implementation of this activity were prepared long ago, in line with the response conveyed by the Chair of the Indonesian and Regional Language and Literature Department Student Association, “By seeing the benefits and high enthusiasm of the students, we hope that the program that has been prepared by HMJ BSID can continue to be implemented. “HMJ also emphasized that preparations for this program had started a year earlier, from the hearing stage, program preparation, until finally getting joint approval,” said Krisna Wiryasuta.
