Singaraja– Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) has declared itself an internationally reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL). This is an effort to accelerate the realization of the vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. The faculty is also eager to realize this target through various programs. The Faculty of Languages ??and Arts (FBS) is no exception, which is rolling out a program to improve English language skills for education staff (Tendik).

Increasing mastery of international languages ??was carried out through training opened by the Dean of FBS, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd, Friday (4/6/2021). The training, which is held twice every Sunday, lasts for three months. On this occasion, Prof. Sutama said that in realizing Undiksha as IRUEL and accelerating the realization of the vision, the efforts made were not only enough to improve academic quality and more broadly in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which consists of education and teaching, research and community service. But it also needs to be supported by improving the quality of educational staff who are closely related to public services. “The relevance of this activity refers to the university’s vision, which of course must be supported to improve quality. “It is hoped that this training activity can improve the performance and professionalism of Language and Arts Faculty employees,” he explained.

Mastery of foreign languages, especially English, continued by the Dean from Ubud, Gianyar Regency, also to support the internationalization at home program that was launched by Undiksha in 2019. Through this program, Undiksha hopes to become a learning home for the international community. “By mastering English in particular, teaching staff will be ready to provide services to students or guests from abroad,” he stressed.

This training activity places more emphasis on speaking using the student-centered method. It is hoped that all participants will follow well, to produce output as expected.(rls/hms)
