March 18, 2024The Dean of the Faculty of Languages ??and Arts (FBS) at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd., opened the online Webinar for the Language and Literature Festival, Department of Indonesian Language, Literature and Regional Student Association (HMJ), Saturday 17 October 2020.
In his speech, he emphasized how important it is for students to develop themselves, not only through lectures but through various student activities. “Organizational experience will increase knowledge and insight for students, and this will be capital when they adapt directly to the world of work and other social conditions,” explained Made Sutama.
The Dean emphasized that this was all to achieve a superior vision that was in line with Undiksha’s vision for the future.
Because in the condition of the pandemic, the entire series of Language and Literature Festival events will take place online, from palm writing, speeches, literary writing, and the election of language ambassadors, to MC and announcer competitions.
However, the meaning of this year’s Language Month celebration has not diminished. This event was attended by the FBS Dean, department heads, Study Program Coordinators, lecturers, and student affairs functionaries.
This webinar presents three speakers who specialize in journalism, lontar, and the literacy movement. This is in line with the two teacher study programs under the auspices of JBSID. Sudarto Wiryosukarto (Corporate Secretary Infobank Group, Jakarta), Sugi Lanus (Curator of the Lontar Museum, Dukuh Penaban, Karang Asem, Bali), and Maksimus Masan Kian (Chairman of East Flores Agupena).
This event was attended by all JBSID students from various corners of Indonesia. Apart from that, there are also several general participants, which is very possible because it uses online mode.
This webinar aims to develop students’ insight so that in the future they can work and build careers in the fields of language and literature. It is hoped that the three resource persons can become real references and models for how students can imagine their jobs in the future when they are in college
